Laminate stalls combine value, durability and a wide range of design options. High Pressure Laminate is made from sheets of kraft paper impregnated with phenolic resins, a decorative sheet with the desired color/pattern and a transparent overlay. These are all heated and compressed, producing a very durable surface. This Laminate is applied to 45 pound high density particle board to produce the partition components.
Laminates themselves are waterproof, but the edges of Laminate partitions are not. Because of this, Plastic Laminate partitions are not appropriate for locations with high humidity, such as areas with showers in the same room. They are also not suitable for locations that clean the partitions by applying liquids directly to the components, since excess liquids often seep through component corners into the core. Liquids can also run down the face of a component and form droplets at the bottom edge. If these droplets are not wiped away, they can wick into the component core and lead to component failure.
Partitions made with Laminate offer a myriad of design choices in a very cost-effective product. See our Wilsonart Laminate chart for examples of available colors, patterns and finishes.
