Things to Consider

Consider the following in association with oversize washroom partitions:

  • Some materials are not appropriate in wet areas.
  • Availability of light inside the partitions should be considered.
  • Material availability may affect lead times.
  • Hardware selection should be appropriate for expected use.
  • Some layout configurations and styles are incompatible.
  • Job site handling should be minimized.
  • Components should be stored flat until installed.
  • Door height/weight and hardware selection dictate maximum component height.
  • Local building and ADA codes should be reviewed for compliance.
  • Directional patterns may limit stall depth.

If you have questions about any of these considerations, or have other concerns, please contact us.

Design Details

Oversize partitions should be specified when a design calls for oversized door or panel dimensions. The dimensions of standard panels and doors are indicated below. Any panel or door with a dimension larger than those listed below is considered an oversized component (see note about European partitions below).

Handicap door: 34-36” x 58”.

Standard door: 24” x 58”.

Standard Panel: 58” x 58”

The oversize option is custom per job, so this option has no typical heights or widths.

Designs calling for 71" high doors and panels along with pedestal supports should consider the European upgrade.

The oversize option can be used in combination with other upgrades, such as molding or louvers.

Note that, depending on the materials used, maximum allowable door weights may limit the door height.
